The link to "2011 StateConvention 3.11.22.ppt" likely represents the first compilation of the inputs from the contributing groups.  My first state convention, in Montana, was at least three weeks earlier than the others, so I'm pretty sure that Publications did not have the opportunity to view and update the content.  It does illustrate some of the variation in style and formatting that one would expect when multiple people are providing input.  All-in-all, it was a credible and useable presentation.

You'll note that there are a number of defects in the AAUW brand slide.  That slide is in use by many presenters and is likely the result of people using an existing presentation as a template when they create a new slide set.  That slide is fixed in my version.

The title and footer features of each slide tend to dominate and the body is visually suppressed.
The "2011 StateConvention Oregon.pptx" file is the version that I presented in Oregon.   Here you'll see the slide design that I've been using, with the primary intent to increase white-space.  I've inserted a slide at the beginning to indicate the general rules that I follow when creating and editing a presentation.
At some point, we may want to consider publishing a standard AAUW design that people could save as an Office Theme on their systems.  When creating a new presentation, they could then apply that theme and not have to edit an existing presentation with new content.

I used "AAUW DLK.pptx" to design the theme that was used in the Oregon presentation.
If you View | Slide Master, you'll find that there are 14 slide layouts.  If this presentation is saved as an Office Theme, the theme will become available on the Design toolbar (see below).  The top layout (colored with a blue gradient) is used to provide a distinctive color on that toolbar.
If you save the above presentation as an "Office Theme" with the filename "AAUW DLK.thmx" it will be located in your "...\Microsoft\Templates\Document Themes" folder.  Then the next time you create a new presentation, that theme will be available on the Design Toolbar and is recognizable because of its blue gradient coloring.  You simply click on that icon and new slides will be formatted with that theme.  Nifty!

As an alternative, save the following theme file to:
  In Windows XP
    C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates\Document Themes

In Windows Vista or Windows 7
    C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates\Document Themes
